Charcoal
On the territory of the State Forestry Institution «Teterinskoye» there are two workshops for annealing charcoal. There are 17 charcoal kilns installed at the sites. Charcoal is a solid, porous, high-carbon product formed when wood is heated without (or with little) air in ovens or retorts. Charcoal has a very wide range of uses. It is widely used in industry, in everyday life, in public utilities and agriculture, and in railway transport. Charcoal is one of the most environmentally friendly types of fuel, meeting the highest requirements, unlike firewood, peat and coal.
Woodworking and production of fuel briquettes
On the territory of the State Forestry Institution «Teterinskoe» there is a woodworking production facility, which is located in the village of Volkovshchina. The main types of wood processing are the production of edged and unedged lumber from deciduous and coniferous wood and fuel briquettes. The production employs 45 people. The main direction is the production of export products, edged and unshaped lumber. Every month the workshops process from 1200 to 1500 m3 of wood. When mechanically processing wood, a significant amount of wood waste is generated, consisting of trimmings, sawdust, shavings, and wood chips. Therefore, at the Teterinskoye State Forestry Institution, it was decided to organize waste-free production by pressing wood waste into fuel briquettes.
